Who We Are

Monarch University is a private Christian university located in Iyesi, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. Founded on a commitment to academic excellence, integrity, and spiritual development, the university is fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) of Nigeria.

We offer 14 undergraduate programmes across two faculties: the Faculty of Humanities, Management & Social Sciences and the Faculty of Basic & Applied Sciences. Our programmes are designed to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and character needed to thrive in a competitive global environment.

Professor Olugbemisola Mopelola Omoegun, Vice Chancellor of Monarch University
Vice Chancellor

Prof. (Mrs) Olugbemisola Mopelola Omoegun

Professor Omoegun is an accomplished educationist, former Dean of Education at the University of Lagos, pioneer Dean of Education at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, and a renowned professional counsellor. Her experience as a teacher and counsellor spans more than five decades across every level of education in Nigeria.

Professor Omoegun served as a Professor of Guidance and Counselling at the University of Lagos until May 2021. Young people, particularly youths, teenagers, and adolescents, were the major focus of her research work.

She is a Fellow of the Counselling Association of Nigeria and the first National President of the Association of Professional Counsellors in Nigeria. Her recognitions include the Inspirational Woman of the Year Award, Distinguished Fellow of the Institute of Security in Nigeria, and a University of Lagos Alumni Association Distinguished Achievers Award.

Prof. Olaleke Oluseye Ogunnaike

Professor Ogunnaike is a distinguished academic, administrator, and thought leader. As Deputy Vice Chancellor, he provides strategic leadership in advancing Monarch University's mission of producing knowledgeable and skillful graduates through functional education and value re-orientation.

He earned an OND in Marketing from Ogun State Polytechnic, a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Ogun State University, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Marketing from Covenant University. His teaching and research span service marketing, entrepreneurial marketing, consumer behaviour, marketing research, strategic management, employability, and service quality.

Professor Ogunnaike rose from Graduate Assistant to Professor of Marketing during more than two decades at Covenant University. He has supervised doctoral and master's research and has more than one hundred publications in reputable local and international journals.
